A very pleasant surprise! (Ni Cad model)

I have back problems which are very painful after I cut the lawn and become much worse when using a gas trimmer to finish the job. Over 2 years ago I saw an ad for the Worx trimmer/edger on TV which touted how light and easy it was to adjust and use. I was quite skeptical of the claims made in the ad because it was an "as seen on TV" type product. But, my back was hurting so much that I ordered one. Upon receipt, I found a product that was virtually all plastic and did not inspire confidence in my decision. The next day, with one of the two batteries fully charged, I trimmed the lawn. Boy, was I surprised! I trimmed the lawn and still had plenty of charge in the battery. But most important, the lightweight trimmer did not hurt my back because I could vary my posture and even trim with one hand thus eliminating my pain.
This is not a heavy duty trimmer and is not suitable for large jobs or thick weeds, but I have used it for two years and its benefit to me justifies my rating.

Best thing I did was to get this WORX GT. I love it, it does everything that they say. Only problem I had was a bad battery, called them and got a replacement FAST..Been great ever since. I'm looking at that WORX TIVAC now and I'm pretty sure I'm going to spend the money, Well worth it

When the trimmer first arrived, I thought I would need to purchase a more heavy duty one for other weed trimming jobs around my house. Was I wrong!!!! I love this tool. i am able to trim and edge my whole yard on one charge twice!!! My property is 8725 sq ft too front and back. The only thing I was surprised about is the cap that secures the line spool wore out within 6 months of use. But it's only thin walled plastic that takes quite a beating. I was able to get a replacement for free among some other things that the rep sent me. I'll be a happy man once my parts come in. I named my trimmer after one of the helpful Customer Service people. They helped me out and set me up with some replacements.

What a Time and Space Saver

I hesitated buying the trimmer/edger from a TV ad, but WOW, I am so happy with this 2 in 1 tool. It has cut my yard time by at least 30 minutes, and easily stores on a wall in the garage. The edger does an extremely good job--no back and forth movement which was common with my electric corded edger. The special (free) spools of line leave a deep groove along the edge of the sidewalks, just like edgers with a blade. I wouldn't have believed a "string" edger like the WORX could leave a deep groove until I saw how well it performs. A quick change and it's ready to trim, and never need to worry about line feed--it's automatic. I love the light weight and the small, but powerful, lithium ion battery--and especially no more unwinding and winding electrical cords. When I had a problem with one battery, WORX replaced it FREE--good Company and an even better product--highly recommend it.

I bought my trimmer when I broke my back and could not lift anything heavy. This has been the best purchase I have ever made. I can use it with ease. I will never buy any other brand.. I am getting ready to buy one for my daughter and son n law for Christmas.
